Overweight & obesity

When diets no longer help

Many people come to us after trying several times on their own. Lasting success, however, did not follow.

Behind this pattern lie mechanisms that can be examined. That is exactly where we begin.

When can this be useful?

When several attempts lie behind you
When blood pressure, blood sugar or blood lipids have become abnormal
When a pre-existing condition or medication complicates matters
When you would like medical support
Nutritional medicine
Medical history & physical examination
Laboratory panel for metabolism & hormones
Measurement of body composition
Treatment plan & written recommendations
Follow-up checks for as long as you need them

It is rarely just the food

Metabolism

Insulin resistance, blood sugar & blood lipids. This is where it is decided which dietary approach can work at all.

Hormones

Thyroid, cortisol &, in women, the cycle. Often overlooked when weight will not move despite changes.

Medication

Some drugs favour weight gain. A look at your list therefore belongs at the beginning, not at the end.

Sleep

Too little or disturbed sleep measurably shifts hunger & satiety. If we suspect sleep apnoea, we investigate further.

Everyday life & strain

Shift work, stress & irregular meals. A plan that ignores your personal routine will struggle to achieve lasting success.

Your history

We take time for your story & the routes you have already tried.

From findings to plan

01

Taking stock

first appointment

Everything essential in one morning: conversation, examination, blood sampling & measurement.

02

Making sense of it

after the laboratory results

We go through the values together. Sometimes there is a treatable cause behind the weight, for instance in the thyroid or in sugar metabolism.

03

Shared goals

in the same conversation

We agree on a few steps that can be checked.

04

Ongoing support

at fixed intervals

We look at values & progress & adjust the plan where needed.

Frequently asked questions

I have already tried a lot. What is different here?

With us the examination comes before the plan. The six factors above are not theory; every one of them has already steered a therapy in a different direction here.

Do you work with weight-loss medication?

Whether medical support is an option is a medical decision in each individual case & depends on findings, pre-existing conditions & concurrent medication.

Do you also provide care before & after surgery?

Yes. Nutritional preparation is part of bariatric surgery beforehand, and long-term support with monitoring of nutrient supply afterwards.
